Inventus Power is excited to participate in two upcoming events for the medical device industry - MD&M West (February 6-8) and the 2nd Annual US Medical Battery Conference (February 5-7) in Anaheim, California. As one of the leading medical device trade shows in the US, MD&M West is an advanced manufacturing tradeshow geared towards an international audience of engineers, executives, and buyers who are looking to explore the latest product innovations, establish new partnerships, and expand industry knowledge through various educational opportunities. The Medical Battery Conference, organized by Informa in partnership with Shmuel De-Leon Energy, is part of MD&M West’s exclusive education platform that discusses advances and innovation in the field of medical batteries.
The medical device industry is ever-changing, and new technology is helping to advance life-saving solutions. Batteries are a critical component of some of the advancements made to medical devices. As a global leader in advanced battery solutions with over 60 years of experience working with medical device OEMs, Inventus Power is a trusted partner for battery and power solution needs. Visit us at Booth# 628 to learn about our design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities for medical batteries and power solutions.
At this Medical Battery Conference & Workshop, our Chief Technology Officer, Chris Turner, will be presenting on a few topics related to medical batteries:
- Title: Designing Battery Packs for Medical Applications
- Date: Monday, February 5, 2024
- Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM PT
- Location: 202AB
This comprehensive workshop will guide you through the entire process of developing battery packs for medical applications. We'll start with a review of design best practices, discussing how the latest trends from the EV industry are trickling down to the medical sector such as designing for prevention of cell-to-cell propagation and functional safety considerations. We'll also look at certain medical specific applications and their challenges. During this session, we’ll do a deep dive into battery cell technology by reviewing current status (chemistry and form factor), cell roadmaps, and new technologies such as Solid State, LMFP and Sodium Ion. We will also discuss market forces that cause challenges for the medical industry in terms of cell availability. We expect a very interactive session, so please come prepared with questions regarding any battery related topic of interest.
- Title: Exploring Cell Technology for Medical Applications
- Date: Tuesday, February 6, 2023
- Time: 10:35 AM - 11:00 AM PT
- Location: Hall E
In the media, there is much discussion on cell technology in relation to electric vehicle (EV) batteries, but a lack of conversation about cell technology for medical batteries. In fact, not many medical applications can use the same cells that Tesla uses (e.g. a large cylindrical 4680 or a 100Ah large LFP prismatic cell). This presentation will review current and future cell technology relevant to medical applications.
