Message from our CEO regarding COVID-19

Written by admin | Mar 20, 2020 10:06:42 PM

Due to the latest developments regarding COVID-19, I would like to share the actions we have taken to maintain the safety and well-being of our Inventus Power employees as well as mitigate impact on our overall business health.

COVID-19 is a global pandemic and affecting our entire Inventus Power family. With employees and locations across the world, we have been diligently monitoring the situation since the initial outbreak and following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization as well as adhering to local government directives.  Below is an update on global and site-specific actions that have taken place.

Global Preventative Action Plan

As the concerns regarding COVID-19 evolve, we continue to act out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety for all our 3,000+ employees. Travel restrictions, both international and domestic, are in full force. A work-from-home policy is in effect at all locations for functions that can work remotely. For essential roles that will remain onsite, workplace safety measures are taking place including increased cleaning, social distancing accommodations, employee training and daily screenings, etc. Our COVID-19 response teams across all locations are doing a tremendous job to keep employees safe, informed, and productive during this challenging time.

Manufacturing Operations

Our rapid response and mitigation efforts at our China locations at the start of the outbreak enabled us to recover operations and resume business with minimal impact. We have implemented lessons learned and best practices across our global locations. The following Inventus Power manufacturing sites are operating at normal production levels and will continue to adhere to the above-mentioned precautionary measures:

  • Qingxi, China
  • Woodridge, IL USA*
  • Tijuana, Mexico
  • Manaus, Brazil

Due to a proactive directive by the Malaysian government to contain and prevent further spreading of the virus, our Senai, Malaysia operations will be suspended from Wednesday, March 18th through Tuesday, March 31st. Inventus Power Malaysia office staff will work remotely, but our production staff will remain home through March 31st unless instructed otherwise. We are working with affected customers to manage this change and develop recovery plans in order to minimize disruption to their business. From a financial perspective, we expect there to be minimal impact to our overall business as a result of this temporary shutdown.

*The Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker, ordered a “Shelter in Place” for residents of the State of Illinois from Saturday, March 21st through Tuesday, April 7th. Because Inventus Power is critical supplier of products to both medical and military customers, our business is considered essential during this time. Our manufacturing facility in Woodridge, IL is exempt from this order and will remain open and operational.

Business Outlook

There is no doubt that this is a very difficult situation for so many people and businesses. Inventus Power is not immune to the impact of COVID-19, but I believe we are well positioned to weather this storm. With our unique global footprint, diverse market & customer portfolio, strong financial position and dedicated employees, we will continue support customers as best as we can during these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Patrick Trippel
