Inventus Power is excited to announce that we have established separate agreements with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, the Indonesian state-owned oil and natural gas corporation, and The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia (Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral Republik Indonesia (BBSP KEBTKE or ESDM)) to support electrification initiatives established by the Government of Indonesia to reinforce its commitment to reduce carbon emissions within the Indonesian transportation sector and help achieve goals towards net carbon neutrality by 2060.On September 14, 2023, Inventus Power signed MoU with BBSP KEBTKE or ESDM along with PT Industri Telekomunikasi (INTI) for the retrofit conversion kitsLeveraging its country’s abundance of nickel reserves, the Indonesian Government is positioning Indonesia as a significant player in the global electric vehicle (EV) industry and working with several local government agencies and leaders in the global battery industry to help achieve its strategic ESG initiatives. One of its initiatives involves reducing emissions from the transportation sector through the adoption of electric mobility vehicles. To support this EV conversion effort, the government passed several regulations, including a retrofit mandate, involving the conversion of all existing motorcycles powered by Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to battery based-electric power and the establishment of an electric charging infrastructure for battery-based electric motor vehicles.

In response to this mandate, Inventus Power has been working with Pertamina, BBSP KEBTKE or ESDM, and other government agencies in Indonesia to develop a retrofit program that helps accelerate the adoption of e-motorcycles throughout Indonesia. The collaborations have been very successful in meeting the requirements set by the Indonesian Government and the companies are now progressing to next steps.

On September 13th, Inventus Power signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Pertamina Patra Niaga regarding the development of an EV Ecosystem in Indonesia related to the motorcycle retrofitting program. On September 14th, Inventus Power signed another MoU with BBSP KEBTKE or ESDM along with PT Industri Telekomunikasi (INTI) for the retrofit conversion kits. This signing took place at an event hosted by BBSP KEBTKE or ESDM to promote the Development of a Battery Electrical Vehicle (BEV) Infrastructure in Indonesia. Inventus Power’s battery packs, chargers, retrofit kits, and swap stations were showcased at this event.

Stay tuned for more updates in our effort to support a greener future for Indonesia!
